Self Group is a Portland-based DIY record label collective, formed on February 19, 2010 by local multi-instrumentalist and producer Krist Krueger. What started as a full scale booking, marketing and promotional effort for Krueger’s own music, Self Group both expanded to represent the music of his close friends and their various projects, and also contracted in scope, focusing efforts solely on being a label. Fast forward seven years: the collective is now made up of 14 artists, and on Sunday, February 19, it’s time for a god damn birthday party.

To ring in their seventh birthday, Self Group has put together an monster lineup of musical performances and visual art. King Who, formerly know as US Lights, will headline the night with their chiseled indie rock sound lead by frontman Michael Young. They’ll be joined by label-mates Mothertapes, Yardsss, Wrtch, Swansea, C^VES, as well as Dead Death and Dolphin Midwives. The night will also feature visual art by Heidi Elise Wirz, Michelle Ramin, Joel Barber, Krist Krueger and Ambrosia Bartosekulva.
