What happens when a high school producer making forward-thinking ethereal R&B, and is a handsome lad to boot, catches the ear of high end fashionistas? For Alex Fleming, who performs under the alias of Black Atlass, the sky’s the limit. At the age of only 18, Flemming had his single “Paris” picked up for a Louis Vuitton commercial. Now in his early 20s, he’s had his voice featured prominently in a Saint Laurent campaign, collaborated on an Action Bronson track, and was invited to sit front row at a Dior Homme fashion show in Paris.
Now with his worlds of fashion, art and music bridged, the young, venerable triple threat has recently released a debut full length, Haunted Paradise, out on Fool’s Gold Records, with a handful of gorgeous accompanying music videos. Around the same time of his release, he was also included in renowned designer Alexander Wang’s list of celeb “squad goals,” along with the likes of Kylie Jenner, Tyga, Vince Staples, A$AP Ferg and a myriad of other huge names, and was ultimately made one of the faces of Wang’s Fall ’16 campaign.
