If you’re not yet familiar with the LA-based experimental alternative electronic artist Elohim, it wouldn’t be all that surprising, but that’s likely soon to change (especially if you’re reading this). The multi-instrumentalist, producer and vocalist maintains a certain mystique about herself, keeping her identity a mystery and face enshrouded in black locks, evoking a similar sense of fantasy as the late, great performers David Bowie and Prince.
Elohim’s eponymously named debut EP, released last year on B3SCI Records, tackles issues of love, heartbreak, anxiety, the fragility of life and changing one’s own perspective, while juxtaposing lyrically heavy themes with dreamy, electronic pop club bangers. Read Elohim’s track-by-track breakdown of each song on The Line of Best Fit. Stream the EP below.
On Thursday, March 30 Abstract Earth Project presents Elohim live at Holocene for a special 16+ show with support from fellow LA-based electronic pop artist Autumn in June. Grab tickets in advance here, and RSVP + invite friends to the event here.
