Glitter. Love. Bright colors. Fur. Overtly sexual costumes. Playful soul vibes. Psychedelic future disco. These amazing things can be expected at a Lola Buzzkill performance. The Portland-based R&B and Soul-inspired indie pop troupe brings their fantastic and unapologetically queer show back to Holocene on Thursday, July 27.
One of the last times our stage was graced by the lovelies of Lola, it was for our beloved Pop & Puppetry showcase where they were joined by puppeteers who designed and choreographed a puppet show synced to their live performance (watch a video from that show below). Since then, Lola was showcased on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert tour series along with Tank and the Bangas, an admirable feat for any local act.
This Thursday, they share our stage with our own sound tech Bryson Hansen’s solo sci-fi synth pop project Bryson Cone and the sultry sax-drenched psychedelic lounge pop of The Fur Coats. Tickets are available here. RSVP + invite friends to the event here.
