Tin House magazine celebrates the release of their new issue, centered around the cultural exchange between Brooklyn and Portland.

8pm | $5.00 day of show

Enjoy performances from some of our city's finest musicians and authors, featured in the issue and its accompanying mixtape (mixtape curated by Grouper's Liz Harris).

Cloaks (sometimes modified by adjectives like "Neon" or "Visible") is Spencer D and Ryan C. Their work investigates both inverted pop structures and long-form collage in a fluid mix, often with vocoded or modulated voice, digital and analog mallet work, modular synths and other abstracted sound sources.

Golden Retriever was formed in Portland, Oregon in 2008 by multi-instrumentalists Jonathan Sielaff & Matt Carlson. Focusing on the relationship of two primarily monophonic instruments (modular synth & bass clarinet), and utilizing layering with a deft balance of improvisation & composition, the duo has created an infinitely varied approach to their sound world. 2012 saw the release of their Thrill Jockey debut, Occupied with the Unspoken.
