A stacked line-up of local indie rock - Eric from Miss Rayon's birthday show!!

Portland, Oregon’s Miss Rayon was started by Detroit/Flint Michigan-area native, Eric Sabatino, after years playing with Portland bands (Appendixes, Cat Hoch Band, Vexations, and Bryson Cone, to name a few) left him craving a project where he could follow his personal influences. Residing somewhere on the spectrum between New York no wave and Manchester post-punk, one can hear influences as broad as Sonic Youth, Yoko Ono, ESG and Magazine. Miss Rayon released their debut full length record, Eclipse, this November on Portland's XRAY Records, with the help of Hannah Blilie (Gossip, Shoplifting) on Drums/Vocals, and Jenny Logan (Summer Cannibals) on Bass/Vocals. Miss Rayon's current lineup consists of Thomas Mabus (Formerly of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Wampire) and Basil Stevens (Formerly of Havania Whaal).

Mini Blinds has been compared to a dreamier version of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Formed as a duo in Portland, OR in late 2015. Both Beth Ann Dear (Appendixes) and Devin Welch (Blood Brothers, Shoplifting, Past Lives, Appendixes) have been playing music in the Pacific Northwest in some form for most of their lives. Drawing influences from the 90s female fronted alt-rock, 80s British twee & shoegaze, the Paisley Underground, and K records, they have created a sound with many layers and a common thread. In 2016 they released their first 8 song album “Air Signs”. The songs were bouncy and minimal, held together by layers of analog drum machines. In September 2018 the group released their EP ‘Dust’. It has been said to be a “reintroduction” and a new evolution in the sound of the band. Their sound has become much more dreamy and slightly more melancholy and eerie on their sophomore release. They have already began writing another collection of songs in hopes to release it sometime in late 2019.
