SNAP! Y2K - '90s vs '00s dance party
Everybody dance now!

SNAP! is the brainchild of Ms. Coco Madrid, originally ignited by the musical talents and tastes of DJs Palmer "Freaky Outty" Auty and Chip "Colin Jones" Brokaw in 2007. Spawned in the dingy nooks of Branx in Portland, Oregon, the night was born out of the ferocious, crate-digging appetites of Palmer and Chip, alongside the need to establish a party for people to appreciate the early to mid-90s sounds of hip-hop, house, RnB, and bass-heavy club remixes that were in desperate need of dusting off. The music collections of Freaky Outty and Colin Jones were ready to be released upon the masses, an antithesis from the oppressive, thuggish aesthetic dominating Top 40 airwaves at the time. An arsenal of vibrant, jazzy, afro-centric, uplifting, and joyful club bangers had been amassed and was ready to resuscitate a youthful feeling of nostalgia amongst clubbers in Portland and beyond.

Fast-forward 2012: SNAP! is an institution. Having moved out of the confines of Branx and into the limelight of Holocene, one of Portland's most prestigious and popular nightclubs, the night has amassed popularity beyond capacity, powered by the razor-sharp turntablist antics and exclusive edits of Doc Adam (PDX -- Ante Up, Crossfaded Bacon) alongside the unimpeachably deep crates of Colin Jones (PDX -- Big Green Jones Show).
Doc Adam
Doc Adam is one of Portland, OR's premier club DJs, remixers, editors, producers, and engineers. The Doc cut his teeth in the turntablist and party scene in the late '90s in Detroit and Ann Arbor, MI where he grew accustomed to rocking crowds and DJ battles alike, flipping back and forth between hip hop, downtempo, ghettotech, and minimal techno. Having gained a serious respect for the craft of DJing as a member of the Unfadeables alongside the ability to rock parties to any type of crowd, Doc Adam persisted throughout his years spent living between Germany and Oregon, honing his skills in various capacities and growing accustomed to rocking to anyone who is thrown in front of him playing any conceivable genre of music - he prides himself on his encyclopedic knowledge of music and his ability to both read and push the dancefloor.

These days Doc Adam is one of the premier producers of Moombahton, an engineer working for artists including Onra, Waajeed, Invincible, Blu, Buff One, and more, a winner of multiple party rock & turntablist DJ battles, and a resident at all of Portland's most forward thinking dance spots. Highlighting his skills in all of these various arenas of the music business, Doc Adam is now affiliated with Crossfaded Bacon Records as a producer and remix artist, along with the prestigious and newly formed Wolfpack - which includes DJ Evil One, DJ Excel, DJ-R, DJ Rick Rude, & DJ Impulse - as a club DJ, and with FRESHselects as a in-house engineer and beyond. You will find him DJing internationally, touring with various other DJs, emcees, and artists in the upcoming year while working to set your city on fire.

Doc Adam does also, in fact, hold a Ph.D. in philosophy.
