LAUNDRY:

Laundry met in the University of Oregon dorms in the fall of 2017, and the four of them quickly bonded over a shared interest in the local music scene. Eugene bands like Spiller, Novacane, and the Graduating Class helped the band find gigs at house shows and bars around the college, during which the band began to develop its energetic live performance and collaborative songwriting process. Following the release of their first EP during their freshman year of college, guitarist and singer Kiki Paroissien-Arce suggested the band record at Echohill Studios in Portland with her father Edwin Paroissien. This proved to be a creatively fruitful decision, and their first release with Paroissien as producer, 2019’s Affirmation, found the band modest and unexpected success on streaming services. 2020’s Fast Cars saw the band experiment with more in depth storytelling and increasingly elaborate music videos, while maintaining the dreamy yet energetic Eugene rock sound of the first Echohill Studios album. Laundry had to postpone their 2020 Fast Cars promotional tour for quarantine, but they are writing and rehearsing new music at their home in Eugene where they live with a cat, a dog, and two rats.

LES GOLD:

Portland indie rock collective Les Gold was founded by frontman Jenson Tuomi and guitarist Tim Kaye, and consists of bassist Jake Jarvis, drummer Cory Aboud, and multi-instrumentalist Victor Gennaro. The band has cultivated a sound that mixes homegrown Northwest indie rock with elements of folk rock, dream pop, desert rock, surf, and other influences. The band showcases catchy, poppy melodies and tones layered over unique vocal harmonies and often macabre lyrics – crafting a sound that’s been described as ‘gloom disco’ and ‘bummer fun’.

Since releasing their first EP ‘More Silver’ in late 2018, Les Gold has toured the west coast, opened for major artists like Jesse Harris, Horse Feathers, and Hot Flash Heatwave, and expanded their reach to hundreds of thousands of listeners across North America and Europe. As the band has progressed and continued to develop their sound, they’ve stayed true to their roots and remained pioneers of the self-titled ‘bummer fun’ genre. With a strong cast, sponsorships from local legends like Benson Amps and 64 Audio, and support from revered Portland, OR producer Bob Stark, the band is preparing to release a wave of new singles in advance of their anticipated sophomore EP.

TENANTS (new project from members of Holidae House and Pulp Romance):
Tenants is a Portland based Indie rock band that emerged during the quiet months of the pandemic. Singer and guitarist Ryan Logan and bassist Grant Logan started the project with long time friend and guitarist Nate Martin, and their dynamic bond and strength in composition led to a full project. The three quickly started to write and develop songs and began producing music together from the comfort of their home studios.

Influenced by the electric pop sounds of innovators like Phoenix, Pond and Portland’s own Portugal the Man, Tenants is bringing a familiar yet exciting flair to  the scene. Their debut album is set to be released in the spring of 2022.

Vaccine Policy

To keep our customers, staff and community safe, Holocene will require proof of fully-Covid-vaccinated status* for entry into the venue.**

This decision was made in response to the surging and highly transmissible delta variant, in Oregon and across the US. In the close-quarters of a music venue — with customers drinking maskless, singing, dancing, talking in each others’ ears — the best way we can keep customers safe is to ensure the people in the room have the strongest protection from Covid, and especially from its worst outcomes. We appreciate your understanding.

We’re continuing to monitor Oregon Health Authority requirements, vaccination rates and Covid cases and will notify our audience on this page and elsewhere if this policy can be lifted or needs to be adjusted.

*To be considered fully vaccinated, you must have had both shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and have a minimum of 2 weeks that have elapsed since receiving your final dose. Proof of vaccination requires display of your vaccination card, in person or a photo on your phone, so long as the name on the card matches the name on your official ID.

** For those who are unable to receive the vaccine for a medical reason, we may, on a case by case and event by event basis, be able to allow proof of negative COVID PCR test within 24 hours of the event. To be considered for this option, you MUST contact us in advance to make arrangements at hc@holocene.org If you don’t want to or can’t show proof of vaccination for a show, we’ll be happy to give you a refund up to 14 days prior to the show date.
