Portland’s new project, Rose Tinted, is the hip hop project you didn’t know you needed. Rose Tinted is set to debut their project at Holocene on Wednesday, November 10th. The group is dedicated to producing a live boom-bap sound, chopping up classic hip hop joints while adding their own instrumental breaks and organic improvisation. Combining the musicianship of their drum and bass pocket with live sampling and scratching adds all the best ingredients to a D.J. set. And the band consists of four of PDX’s finest musicians in their respective craft. The lineup includes MLTZR on electronics (Korgy and Bass), Celly on turntables (2018 and 2019 IDA USA Scratch Champion, Skratcher Portland), Kirk Kalbfleisch on drums (D.V.R., Coco Columbia, World’s Finest, Reva Devito), and Sam Arnold on bass (D.V.R., Korgy and Bass, Quickly Quickly, Mae.Sun, Greaterkind). If you are a beat head or hip hop fan, there’s no better place than Holocene to tap into the beat music scene in PDX and check out this exciting new project. + Support set from local MC ePP!

Vaccine Policy

To keep our customers, staff and community safe, Holocene will require proof of fully-Covid-vaccinated status* for entry into the venue.**

This decision was made in response to the surging and highly transmissible delta variant, in Oregon and across the US. In the close-quarters of a music venue — with customers drinking maskless, singing, dancing, talking in each others’ ears — the best way we can keep customers safe is to ensure the people in the room have the strongest protection from Covid, and especially from its worst outcomes. We appreciate your understanding.

We’re continuing to monitor Oregon Health Authority requirements, vaccination rates and Covid cases and will notify our audience on this page and elsewhere if this policy can be lifted or needs to be adjusted.

*To be considered fully vaccinated, you must have had both shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and have a minimum of 2 weeks that have elapsed since receiving your final dose. Proof of vaccination requires display of your vaccination card, in person or a photo on your phone, so long as the name on the card matches the name on your official ID.

** For those who are unable to receive the vaccine for a medical reason, we may, on a case by case and event by event basis, be able to allow proof of negative COVID PCR test within 24 hours of the event. To be considered for this option, you MUST contact us in advance to make arrangements at If you don’t want to or can’t show proof of vaccination for a show, we’ll be happy to give you a refund up to 14 days prior to the show date.
