“When I started writing last great american summer, I had just gotten back from my first tour. I’ve always
traveled a lot as a kid but going to that many places back to back put me in a very Americana space. I
met so many different people, who led such different lives from each other but would all came together for
the same songs every night. I found that really moving. So when making this song, I just wanted to
capture that feeling. I wanted to make a song that felt just as much like Washington DC, as it does to New
Mexico and to Los Angeles.” – SEB
