Spend The Night presents:

Nikki Nair (Dirtybird, Scuffed – Atlanta)

w/ PRSN and Ben Tactic

Starting out DJing and throwing DIY events in Tennessee, Nikki’s style of DJing fuses his deep interest in the history and future of global rave music and culture with an unpretentious no-holds-barred attitude required to hold the attention of an unpretentious crowd that just wants to party. He developed his musical roots in an underground American dance music subculture that eschews the flashiness and accessibility of EDM and festival culture in favor of stark and raw experimentalism. However, he realized that if he wanted to actually make a typical crowd at a rave or festival in places like Tennessee actually dance while respecting his roots, he would need to transcend this attitude and create something that is as fun and infectious as it is experimental and raw. Nikki’s simultaneous commitment to both genre-blending experimentation and dancefloor utilitarianism has landed him on highly regarded record labels in both the UK and US, including Mr. Mitch’s Gobstopper, Barely Legal’s Pretty Weird, and Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird. His music has been playlisted by a variety of artists including Four Tet, Glitch Mob, Diplo, Fracture, Sasha, and Jamie XX, as well as featured in mixes by Ben UFO, Batu, Logic1000, FaltyDL, TotallyEnormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and Mount Kimbie. He has also remixed for artists like Anna Lunoe and Addison Groove.

Vaccine Policy

To keep our customers, staff and community safe, Holocene will require proof of fully-Covid-vaccinated status* for entry into the venue.**

This decision was made in response to the surging and highly transmissible delta variant, in Oregon and across the US. In the close-quarters of a music venue — with customers drinking maskless, singing, dancing, talking in each others’ ears — the best way we can keep customers safe is to ensure the people in the room have the strongest protection from Covid, and especially from its worst outcomes. We appreciate your understanding.

We’re continuing to monitor Oregon Health Authority requirements, vaccination rates and Covid cases and will notify our audience on this page and elsewhere if this policy can be lifted or needs to be adjusted.

*To be considered fully vaccinated, you must have had both shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and have a minimum of 2 weeks that have elapsed since receiving your final dose. Proof of vaccination requires display of your vaccination card, in person or a photo on your phone, so long as the name on the card matches the name on your official ID.

** For those who are unable to receive the vaccine for a medical reason, we may, on a case by case and event by event basis, be able to allow proof of negative COVID PCR test within 24 hours of the event. To be considered for this option, you MUST contact us in advance to make arrangements at hc@holocene.org If you don’t want to or can’t show proof of vaccination for a show, we’ll be happy to give you a refund up to 14 days prior to the show date.
