The Fourth Wall was formed in 2011 on the island of Oahu. After releasing their first record Motion & Rest, they quickly gained local acclaim, opening for visiting national acts like Andrew Bird, The Shins, and Menomena. In 2012, The band relocated to Portland, Oregon. Since their move, they've released two highly acclaimed records through Portland label, Bug Hunt. The Portland Mercury called their 2015 album Lovely Violence “something of a wonder: an engrossing, fully realized and vitalized record with no easy musical touchstone." Like their second record, their latest release, Infinite Other (2018) was self-recorded in a variety of locations (including an empty warehouse in southeast Portland). After the release of Infinite Other, The Fourth Wall toured with fellow Portland band Typhoon. In March of 2024, The Fourth Wall will be releasing their new full length LP through DevilDuck records, titled Return Forever. The Fourth Wall self-recorded Return Forever, beginning with recordings that Stephen Agustin started in isolation during the pandemic. The record features Kasey Shun on electric guitar, Chris Lau on bass, Kendall Sallay on vocals, and Andrew White on drums. Formed in 2018, Tremor is a Portland-based act that combines elements from various genres of music, ranging from psychedelia to shoegaze, jazz, acid folk, and art rock. The band consists of Teppei Fukuda (vocals, guitar, and keys), Bobby Lukas (drums and percussion), Pipo Ferreira (guitar, keys, modular synthesizer), Rae Warden (vocals and keys), and Jett Kauffman (bass guitar). Although the band is based in Portland Oregon, the band was initiated by Teppei, who is from Japan, and Felipe, who grew up in Brazil. With deep roots in poetry and literature, Tremor aims to create a sense of dreaminess and seismic soundscapes through their music and lyrics. Ten Million Lights are the juxtaposition of beauty and noise. Existing to fulfill their need to get loud and a craving of catharsis, they create epic psychedelic soundscapes combining heavy guitars and rhythms with beautiful melodies and harmonies. This “noisy dream-pop and psych-tinged shoegaze,“ as The Portland Mercury calls it, exploded in a maelstrom of sound with their latest LP, Into Nothing in the fall of 2023. The Portland, OR quartet made up of Ryan Carroll (vocals), Eric Block (guitars), Russ Ellis (bass) and Paul Hardie (drums) have a unique chemistry fueled by their shared love of motorcycles, guitar pedals and building things (like their practice space, personalized recording equipment, and lights!). Ryan and Eric have been performing together since 2003. In 2015 they went into Revolver Studios to begin work on their LP, Sour Oranges which was mixed by Russ’s brother Brian Ellis and mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk. 2020 saw the band release three more EPs.
