Hot Flash Heat Wave & Mind’s Eye – w/ Roe Kapara – All Ages!

San Francisco band Hot Flash Heat Wave rose to prominence in the Bay Area music scene in 2015 with the release of their debut album Neapolitan. Their versatile sound, at times reminiscent of dreamy psychedelia, power pop, and post-punk, demonstrates a dynamic range of songwriting prowess centered around consistently infectious, sun-soaked melodies and guitar hooks. Hot Flash Heat Wave is Adam Abildgaard, Nick Duffy, and Ted Davis. The trio hails from Davis, California, where they met in high school through a shared interest in music. Maintaining a DIY ethos instilled by their teenage roots in the Davis/Sacramento punk scene, the group still creates most of their artwork and merchandise themselves. Continuing their habit of self-reinvention, the band has garnered growing attention with the early 2019 release of a short-but-sweet EP, titled Mood Ring, and a self-made music video for its leading single ‘Glo Ride’.   An ambitious blending of genres, the EP is a divergence from anything we’ve heard from the group to date, diving deep into themes of introspection and emotional turmoil while still managing a flavor that is uniquely theirs. — Mind’s Eye are in the midst of a career-making year, including their first US headline tour (sold out shows in Orange County, San Diego, Phoenix, and LA @ El Rey), support tours with late night drive home and Hockey Dad, and nearing 70 million global streams. Over the course of the past two years, the high-energy quintet have developed a rampantly loyal and perpetually growing fanbase, depicted beautifully here in the band’s recent TikTok. Hailing from the backyards and skateparks of the Bay Area indie scene, Mind’s Eye blends elements of SoCal indie, surf, and alt rock to create their signature sound. Jangly guitar riffs, melodic bass lines, and lyrics that reflect on love and heartbreak are all staples of the band’s style. Following the success of their breakout single “Wasted Affairs,” they debuted their full-length studio album Long Nights and Wasted Affairs, and the record’s fresh sounds and more experimental production made the band a staple in the SoCal indie scene.

Marielle Kraft w/LEW – Early Show – All Ages!

When you hear Marielle Kraft’s music or experience her candid live shows, you feel as though you already know her. The indie pop singer/songwriter, now based in Nashville, displays craftsmanship beyond her years, following suit to artists like Colbie Caillat, Maisie Peters, and Taylor Swift. Self-taught, the Rhode Island native began playing guitar at 16 and soon writing songs that strike chords with listeners everywhere. Her gift for storytelling is evident through her use of salient detail, raw emotion, and poignant word choice to describe moments “exactly as they feel.” In spring 2018, she was crowned Grand Champion of the Mid-Atlantic Singer-Songwriter Competition, and the following June she delivered a Tedx Talk at Firefly 2018, discussing the importance of honesty rooted in her songwriting process. Marielle Kraft’s debut studio EP, “The Deep End” landed on July 12th, 2019, featuring fan-favorite tracks like “Toothbrush” and “Better Without You”. Kraft’s first effort is, as described by The Music Mermaid, “song after song of mini pop addictions.” In February 2020, Kraft co-released an “anthemic” and “heart-filled” single with Joshua Howard entitled “In It Together”, which quickly gained support across platforms as an anthem of connection amidst a chapter of isolation during quarantine.  Marielle Kraft regularly plays at venues across the United States, sharing stages with names like Mt. Joy, GIRLI, and Amber Liu. She presents her live shows as a seamless narrative: evocative yet encouraging, deeply reflective yet refreshing. The raw authenticity with which Marielle invites listeners into her story cultivates a relationship with them beyond the song, as she is known to “bring together a room full of strangers.” Her “winning personality,” “genuine connection”,” and “gift for story telling” on stage have fueled the ever-growing crowds at each of her shows. In 2021, Marielle Kraft released 4 singles, each of which found major traction on TikTok before becoming studio produced releases. “Everyone But Me” (February 19th), “We Were Never Friends” (March 24th), and “Second Coffee” (July 19th) feature a more developed sound than seen from Marielle before, while her collaboration with Charlie Brennan called “Sidelines” (October 29th) landed on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” and Apple Music’s “Breaking Singer/Songwriter” playlists. Kraft’s sophomore EP “Heartspace” released on September 30th, 2022 followed by two powerhouse pop singles “Owe My Ex” and “10x Better,” which fueled a nearly sold-out headlining tour across the United States. October 27th, 2023 brought the latest offering from Kraft—an evolved EP of 4 songs, tied together as the concept project called “GOOD.” Co-produced with Nashville’s Quinn Redmond [Stephen Day, Emma Klein], GOOD marks an exciting new chapter for Kraft as she stretches her reach to opposite coasts and wider corners of the internet. Since leaving her full-time teaching career to pursue a life committed to creating music, Marielle Kraft has spent the last two years crafting a debut album that has promise to cement the burgeoning artist as a mainstay in the indie pop scene, setting her on pace for an even bigger 2025.

Quannnic w/ kmoe. – Early Show – All Ages!

quannnic is a self-produced singer-songwriter from Florida. After playing hundreds of shows with friends growing up, they then created their own genre-bending and noisy signature style of homespun indie rock. Quannnic’s debut LP “Kenopsia” was released through their friend’s DistroKid account and Bandcamp, and became a breakout moment for the 19-year-old, who has since accumulated 157 million+ streams across their catalog. Over a year and a half after its relatively quiet release, the third single “life imitates life” hit #9 on Spotify’s Viral 50 – US and landed on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.   The same week that they hit their Billboard peak, Quannnic released their sophomore studio LP “Stepdream” self-engineered alongside Photographic Memory and Chris Gehringer. The single “South” featured a collaboration with Jeff Schroeder of Smashing Pumpkins, and the campaign coincided with their first tour: a co-headline run with label-mate Jane Remover. The success of both LPs led to festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Sick New World, and two tours as direct support for Shoegaze pioneers Slowdive. With their sonically darkest album “Warbrained” and first headlining North American tour upcoming, quannnic is gearing up for their most ambitious run so far.
