Holocene and Spend the Night present: DJ BORING w/ Nathan Detroit and Marisa Cruse – 21+
Watching DJ BORING in action is the antithesis of his mundane pseudonym; vibrant, energising, fun and full of passion, Tristan Hallis puts his all into every set. Over the last few years he has ascended rapidly thanks to his dazzling displays, impeccable selection and high quality productions. The Australian selector takes great pride in his digging capabilities, constantly searching for lesser-known gems from years gone by, and pairing them up with more recent cuts that are equally exceptional. Since he arrived with ‘Winona’ in 2016, DJ BORING has continued to push forward and demonstrate his abilities on stage, in the clubs, at festivals and behind-the-scenes in the studio. He has an innate ability to blend seemingly disparate styles. His debut on BBC Radio 1’s legendary Essential Mix and an amazing Boiler Room appearance at Lost Sundays exemplify this DJ style, but tune in to any of his streams, recorded sets or, better still, see him in person and you’re bound to be left buzzing by his sheer dynamism. In the studio, the producer has honed in on a contemporary sound that pays homage to the roots of dance music. His productions are birthed in hardware and imbued with Hallis’ energetic personality — a human touch which can often be lacking in many productions today. This trait shines through in his new live show where hardware and controllers become a natural extension of his creative self, a conduit through which he presents a fresh take on his music. DJ BORING epitomises the dance floor roots of club culture; positive energy, liberating and unifying selections and unbridled fun and self-expression, combined with respect for the music and a genuine desire to share his unwavering passion. Despite his impressive list of achievements it’s clear BORING is only just getting started, with his live show being finalised alongside plans for an album project in the not-too-distant future, the stage is set for the next phase of this soaring artist’s remarkable career…
53 Thieves – w/ KOPPS, Andrew Ash – 21+
An electronic oriented blend of hip-hop, R&B, and disco, 53 Thieves are a transatlantic quartet making music from four separate areas of the world. Consisting of two singers and two producers, they have released the majority of their music without ever setting foot in the same room.KOPPS: Never ones to take themselves too seriously, the Rochester-bred trio would tell you that their sound is like if Britney Spears and KoЯn f–ked, and they wouldn’t be entirely wrong. Anchored by Patricia Patrón’s sultry vocals, the band has a knack for pop sensibility that they immediately flip on its head, evoking a titillating mix of electro, pop and nu metal. With a flair for the dramatic, KOPPS visuals and stage performance dabble into a creepy, twisted and often bizarr-o glam vibe but always with a wry sense of humor.Andrew Ash is a genre-fusing, award-winning Pop Singer/Songwriter emerging from the queer-pop scene of Portland, Oregon. His ability to recreate instrumental soundscapes reminiscent of his 80’s inspirations such as Phil Collins, combined with his knack for writing heart-warming, catchy melodies for contemporary pop music with vintage feels, has helped him achieve many accolades, from some of his songs being featured on MTV’s ‘The Hills’ and ‘The Jersey Shore’ to performing on the main stage of Portland PDX Pride.

Sega Bodega w/ Cecile Believe – 21+
With his first two records Salvador (2020) and Romeo (2021), Sega Bodega (Salvador Navarrete) introduced a reinvention of dance music drive by the kind of dream-logic which addled the mind but made sense to the body. His new album, Dennis (out April 26), arrived following an experience of mania. Imagine spikes of euphoria, sleepless nights and surrender to impulse. The difference between ‘reality’ and the mind-altered state feels paper-thin. Dennis is a translation of how this feels.Sega Bodega’s records have always lent themselves to introspective listening as easily as they fill dance floors, but with Dennis, the intention is to go harder: this is a club record to lose yourself in. With support from Cecile Believe
