Twingle (album release show!) w/ The Soft Colors, DMN – 21+
Twingle is the moniker of songstress and multi instrumentalists Anna Sabatino based out of Portland, OR. Raised in a one room cabin in the small town of Evergreen, Colorado she began writing songs at young age featuring guitar and banjo. Her roots are in oldtimey folk and bluegrass, but later went on to realms of Experimental/Psychedelic/French pop which all work to cultivate her sound and melodic patterns. Her songs live somewhere in the realm of familiar but entirely unexpected. Twingle’s debut album Future Caviar coming out August 18th 2024, is a can of worms focusing on the personal lives of female writers of the 19th and 20th century. The album was recorded to tape in the garage of Anna and Eric Sabatino. Produced by their dear friend Tommy Hollywood. The Soft Colors is a Portland rock band led by Nate Wey and featuring Erik Wisloff-Menteer (former Blitzen Trapper), Rhea Morais (The Black Doors, DJ Queen Amygdala), Leah Heuser, and Kyle Cregan (Smile Pile, James Jones and the Chupacabras). The debut album Still Adventures (by Nate Wey and The Soft Colors), captures the daze and confusion of life during societal traumas (covid, climate change, break ups) – with unexpected rays of sunlight. Musically, the album lives somewhere between David Lynch and PJ Harvey, Velvet Underground and NIN. A prolific creative, Wey’s recent output includes a self-released solo album recorded during the early stages of the pandemic, an ambient piece that plays on loop at The Fair Haired Dumbbell lobby, and a music video in rotation at Hollywood Theater’s PDX Mini-plex (the only airport cinema in the country). His music has recently been licensed to Apple TV, including the final track on Still Adventures. They are currently recording a follow up E.P., tracking live in Sauvie’s Island. DMN (Default Mode Network) creates groove-forward, melody-driven dance music that bridges the gap between 80s radio-friendly new wave and contemporary leftfield pop.

“When I started writing last great american summer, I had just gotten back from my first tour. I’ve alwaystraveled a lot as a kid but going to that many places back to back put me in a very Americana space. Imet so many different people, who led such different lives from each other but would all came together forthe same songs every night. I found that really moving. So when making this song, I just wanted tocapture that feeling. I wanted to make a song that felt just as much like Washington DC, as it does to NewMexico and to Los Angeles.” – SEB
