Don’t Panic! …It’s time to break out the black eyeliner, dust off the old band-tees and Sk8 on over to Holocene for a night of 2000s pop punk music with a LIVE BAND. You better MakeDamnSure to bring your friends who are Not Okay, ’cause We’re Goin’ Down, Down. Understatement of the Year is a live cover band featuring Portland musicians: Maykenzie Joy, James Villa, Mateo Villa, Tim Karplus, and Ryan Wkyert. The show will feature guest performances by local Portland singers TBA.

On their upcoming release they break from ambient music into the world of avant-pop. Infusing their trademark lush synth textures with dreamy vocals, spoken word, and flute merged under danceable beats. Dim Wit: Originally a stripped down, poppy, punky, funky two-piece, Dim Wit has evolved into what is now an eclectic electronic one piece. While the instrumentation and genre has shifted, the lyrical content remains the same, playfully dark. Some might even say it sounds both dim and witty. With influences ranging from Deerhoof to DOOM, Dim Wit manages to form an unexpected and unique sound of their own with a live performance to match. YAWA: Yawa AKA Amenta Abioto is a songwriter and producer from Memphis, TN and currently based in Portland, OR. In her one-woman performance, she builds vocal and instrumental loops from synth, drum machine, and kalimba creating atmospheric textures.
