Featuring Aaron Bergeson on guitar, David Flood on drums, Sean Cummings on vocals, and Dawson DePretis on bass, their style encompasses influences from The Pixies to Blur, infused with the dreamy elements of dreampop and shoegaze.Sit Pretty is a Pacific Northwest pop group comprised of four cats who get along nicely and like to play music together. The band have distilled their various ’90s shoegaze, ’80s post-punk, new wave and baggy, and ’70s AM pop influences into a blend of noisy sonic textures, tight beats and gentle melodies that makes them happy. Our house is your house, and this house is about to throw it tf down with fresh grooves all night long. Starring on stage have the legendary and iconic Kevin Aviance of New York City’s House of Aviance (NYC) performing a couple of his musical numbers. Kevin has been a core contributor to the NY club, dance and ballroom scene since the 90s. Recently, his work was sampled by Beyoncé for ‘PURE/HONEY’ on her Renaissance album. Kevin has also been awarded the GLAM’s 2015 Living Legend Award and was featured in Madonna’s Secret video, along with many other incredible collaborations and achievements. Needless to say, we’re honored to be hosting Kevin Aviance in Portland. Joining as support on stage is Portland’s very own, Lala Benét. Lala has been performing in the Portland scene for a better part of the last decade and always serves the crowd with elegance and precision. And of course, our Switch residents will be doing their thing. Behind the decks is Portland-born NYC-based SPRKLBB, a vinyl aficionado who has mastered the craft and always delivers groovy, transcendent sets. We’re also pleased to have the amazingly talented Sharlese coming in from Seattle, known for dark wavy sets that get the dance floor feeling freaky.10% of proceeds go to the Black Resilience Fund, a program of nonprofit Brown Hope that promotes resilience and healing for Black Multnomah County residents through a village building program with a 3-year- income guarantee. .. TICKETING: Performances start at 7pm, dancing starts at 9pm. Advance tickets for the show & party are available now for $40. If you’d like to come after 9 just for the dance party, you can either buy a dance party only advance ticket for $20, or else just walk up to the door and join us. $40 door cover between 7-9pm during the performances, $20 door cover between 9pm and midnight, $10 cover after midnight. Capacity permitting, of course.
