As founder of the legendary On-U Sound label, he formed and produced a stable of artists such as African Head Charge, New Age Steppers, Dub Syndicate, Creation Rebel and Tackhead, and also produced or remixed everyone from The Slits to Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode to The Fall and Blur to Einstürzende Neubauten. In addition to recent work with indie artists such as Spoon and Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, who both separately hand-picked Sherwood to reconstruct recent studio albums, he has also enjoyed recent success producing late career renaissances on his own On-U label – Rainford by Lee “Scratch” Perry hit number 1 on the Billboard Reggae chart, whilst Midnight Rocker by Horace Andy was crowned The Guardian’s #1 Global album of the year.
