Drawing from her studies in planetary sciences, she creates a unique experience…exploring ideas of multiverses and climate change through the lens of a fictional post apocalyptic keyboard toting earthling with a flashlight, a can of cashews, and a hopeful optimism.  bandcamp Instagram Soundcloud facebookwith support from Sandra Lawson-Ndu (of Bells Atlas)

Jane Weaver, Sonoda – 21+

Abusing, evading and obliterating 20 years of whimsical pop trends, Jane Weaver’s experience as a truly independent and resilient female experimental songwriter/sound-carrier commands respect and inspiration in equal measures.β€―From teenage Liverpudlian shoe-gazer to conceptual-pop mistress, has seen her graze with pocket-punk, Synth-pop, acid folk, indie-schmindie, dark-ambient drones, Hollywood soundtracks and girl-group psych.Sonoda (so-NO-duh) is a meditative pop ensemble based in Los Angeles, CA. The quartet approaches live music and dream pop with a delicate, spiritual, and therapeutic perspective. A gentle glow of crystals, salt lamps, candles and flowers adorn the stage as the band creates a welcoming wash of ambience with warbly guitars and oscillating synths. Each performance opens and closes with a soothing ‘Ohm’ sung by front woman Lisa Sonoda, who resounds deeply on stage with her singing bowl, tingshas and chimes. It is in this dream world where Sonoda’s lullaby-pop sensibility conjures the auras of influences like Broadcast and Beach House. From these influences, Sonoda offers a new take on music and dream pop, bringing us a collective deep breath— a refreshment, a renewal: Meditative Pop.
The band started with Lisa Sonoda’s solo projects, Clearing I (2016) and Clearing II (2017), which were later compiled and released on a small tape run on Never Anything Records. Lisa soon expanded to a full band with the help of musicians like Adrian Garcia on additional synth and guitar. Together they made their first full band demo album Karaoke Life (Never Content, 2018). With current members Eddie Ramos on drums and Jacob Maag on bass, they released singles Half-Life / The Mark (Anniversary, 2019), Point of View & Purpose (Flexible/Terrible Records, 2021). They have also toured with Vanishing Twin, Mutual Benefit and Hater, and performed with bands Good Morning, Claud, Juniore and many more.

Arden Jones – Early Show! – ALL AGES – w/ Pardyalone

21-year-old Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Arden Jones captures unforgettable, serotonin-filled California summers into a perfect blend of pop, hip-hop, and alt that, while familiar, is undeniably his own. His clever rhymes and witty lyricism paint heartfelt, relatable sentiments that beautifully juxtapose his infectious hooks and euphoric, nostalgia-inspired beats. From a young age, Arden’s love of skating and surfing came second only to his love of music, successfully teaching himself to play an array of instruments including upright bass, mandolin, guitar, piano, and ukelele. His musical household introduced him to legends like The Avett Brothers, Bright Eyes, and 50 Cent, but it wasn’t long before he began forging his own musical identity inspired by J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Mac Miller. A prolific user of Garageband and SoundCloud, Arden posted his internet-beat smash “Parallel Parking” on TikTok at the end of 2020 where it caught the attention of newly minted label, vnclm_, and eventually into the hearts of 14 million Spotify listeners. Since the song’s release, Arden continues to pave his own way into the music world. Following a series of hit singles (including rollercoaster, SMILE, either way) and performances to screaming fans across the country, Arden was determined to reward his die-hard fanbase in 2022, dropping a new three-song EP at the beginning of every month to immense critical acclaim. With millions of streams independently and an unrelenting work ethic, Arden Jones proves that he really is “just trying to make you smile.”with support from Pardyalone!
