MEET AND GREET PACKAGE AVAILABLE! THIS INCLUDES:(1) GA Ticket (1) Signed Copy Of Exclusive marginalia Zine (1) Early Entry into the venue for an exclusive acoustic performance (1) 10 Minute Q&A Session (1) Meet & Greet For as long as she can remember, Ella Jane has been writing in the margins. Growing up, annotation was a way of understanding and processing the culture that surrounded her, a means of collecting words and stories that would become foundational to the songs she would write. Conversely, songwriting became a way of marking up the experiences in her own life, a process she’d often document and share in real-time with an ever-expanding online community.Having amassed a legion of fans and followers ahead of her freshman year at Tufts University, Ella entered one of the most exciting periods of her life confined to her dorm room as a result of the ongoing COVID pandemic. With an excess of time at her disposal, she spent much of the year fine-tuning a batch of songs that she had brought with her from high school, which would eventually become her debut project, THIS IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.The EP arrived the following summer via FADER Label, catching the ears of fans such as Elton John, who praised follow-up single “Calling Card,” saying “if there’s any justice in the world, it will be a big hit for Ella Jane… I really love it.” Sold-out shows in New York and Los Angeles soon followed, as did a cross-country tour with Peter McPoland and an appearance on Netflix’s Heartstopper soundtrack.Spurred by the momentum, she dropped out of college and moved to Brooklyn to give the music all of her time. The songs she wrote during this period radiate with the coming-of-age urgency of that moment, and all the identity-affirming head rushes that came with it. Teaming up with producer Mike Irish, they aimed to keep the pop sensibilities of her earlier work as well as steer them toward a grittier place more akin to the sound of her alt-rock heroes. They landed at Marginalia; a concise offering of her most propulsive and assertive material to date that establishes Ella Jane as a formidable storyteller all while nodding to the process that got her there.

Together they create music to get lost in: cavernous, reverberating guitars and synthesizers, matched with visual projections in an immersive audio/visual experience. Since forming in early 2013, the group has released 9 full-length studio albums and several EPs. Hotel Neon has toured and collaborated with the likes of Benoit Pîoulard, The Sight Below, Simon Scott, and Marcus Fischer, filling everything from living rooms to cathedrals with their densely layered walls of sound.Patricia Wolf is a musician, sound designer, and DJ residing in Portland, Oregon. Wolf uses electronics, voice, and field recordings to produce non-linear compositions that draw listeners to a hypnotic inner world. Her use of melody and repetition manipulate the listeners’ perception of time, conjuring vivid textures, and atmospheres. Her debut album, I’ll Look For You In Others was released in February 2022 on Past Inside The Present and was quickly followed up by her 2nd LP See-Through which was released in May 2022 on the Spanish label, Balmat. Benoît Pioulard is the primary audiovisual project of Michigan-born, Brooklyn-based Thomas Meluch.  With six LPs on the renowned kranky imprint, as well as a catalog of works for Universal (UK), Morr Music (DE) and others, he has constructed a unique aesthetic steeped in the textures of analog decay and pop song structure using chiefly guitar, piano and tape processing.  He has also built an extensive archive of Polaroid photographs (many of which grace his album covers), the first official collection of which is the hardcover book “Sylva”, released in 2019.  For live performances Meluch constructs towering loops, seamlessly weaving in gentle guitar-and-voice songs for hypnotic, unbroken sets typically backdropped by film work from like-minded visual artists.Viul is a Brooklyn, NY-based composer and ambient musician. His latest release is Konec (A Strangely Isolated Place, 2022), a collaboration with Benoît Pioulard written and recorded in the earliest days of the pandemic and imbued with the concurrent dread, stillness and strange beauty of an abruptly-halted world. Viul’s previous releases include Bright Decline (Disques d’Honoré, 2019) and Outside the Dream World (Past Inside the Present, 2019).

Comprised of producer/mixer Dominic “Dom” Pizano,rappers-singers Issac Pech, Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq, Joseph Barros, and creative director Jorge Olazaba, the group started as a teenage “do-it-yourself” attempt at music, based out of a shed in San Jose, California. As Issac puts it, “The future of PTR depends on what we wish to accomplish. It’s totally in our hands and work ethic, but we know we want to be as big as possible.” Signed to 10k/Homemade Projects, the Rascals are poised to ascend to even greater heights and are gearing up for some highly anticipated new music and live shows this year.

PLEASE NOTE: For the safety of our customers, we will be requiring proof of full COVID vaccination (or negative rapid COVID test), to enter the venue until further notice. More details at holocene.org/vaccine MEGAN DIANA:Songwriting driven by vintage keyboards, Megan Diana loves a Wurlitzer and Fender Rhodes – especially when put thru an echo pedal. She layers her lush voice in choral layers – going atmospheric at times and then all at once back to the center of her chest in a whisper. Her debut record – Women in My Head – written and dedicated to the important women in her life – (her beloved Grandma Mac graces the cover) allows her to bring in her French Horn in equal parts Canadian Brass and Chet Baker (if he played the F Horn). Some songs lean towards Dark Americana Noir, others clearly constructed pop-  with a full band (and new her pedal steel player: Raymond Richards) things start to turn Western Flavor Florence Welch and have given life to her new genre – DREAM COUNTRY DISCO CARAGOLD:Caragold is an indie-rock band based out of Portland, OR. Finding himself in between projects, founding member Ross Charland retreated to a cabin in Glenwood Washington to write in solitude, usually for a week at a time. After enough trips, Charland had the foundation for an album, now set to release in July 2022. Their music weaves between rock, pop, psych and disco. Most of the songs were conceived by Charland alone, at the cabin in Glenwood. As such, many of the songs deal with isolation, longing for love and internal struggle. The current lineup consists of Stevie Driscoll (Boreen) on drums, Colin Robson (Brother vs. Robot) on bass and Jason Taylor (Hard Yes, Vany Hans) on guitar.DJ VELVET GINGER:DJ Velvet GInger will Bring the Party! With a mainstay of their collection mostly consisting of Hip-Hop and Dance pop from the ’80s, Disco has been a passionate focus of theirs as well.  Constantly learning and honing their craft, spending time in the studio working on smooth transitions and  whipping up new mixtapes. Keeping the craft of mixing vinyl alive, and helping people find new connections on the dancefloor. Commonly found digging for forgotten gems and other sonic satisfaction, in the dusty bins at the local record shops. Filling up record crates with stuff that makes their heart excited, and their booty shake!
